1.                  Aims & objectives of the organization

To boost agricultural productivity and production by extension approach.

 

2.                   Mission / Vision :-          

a.       Upliftment in financial condition of farming community by surplus food grain production

 

b.      Commercialization of agriculture. 

 

3.                  Brief history and back ground for its establishment :-

District Agricultural  Office , Deogarh was established on dt.12.06.1985. to boost agricultural productivity and  production   of both paddy and non –paddy crops like pulses and oil seeds. Before then productivity and  production   of both paddy and non-paddy crops was less than the state average yield . Now a significant achievement has been done more particularly in HYV. Paddy and oil seeds   production. Now average yield of kharif paddy  is 22.52 Qntl. / Ha., average yield of pulses is 3.06 Qntl. / Ha. And average yield of oil seeds is 4.54 Qntl. / Ha. in the district.

6.         Duties to be performed to achieve the mission        :-

            Agricultural Extension officers/workers during their field visit transfer latest  technical know-how’s, skills new Govt. schemes, subsidy provision and research findings to the farming community . By utilization of this technology, farm machineries  and high yielding quality seeds under the active supervision by the field level extension workers the mission to boost  agricultural productivity and production can be achieved.

 

7.         Details of services rendered  :-

            Main services of   Agricultural extension approach is transfer of technology from lab. to land. Different technical know-how’s, skills, latest research  findings and latest developed farm machineries is being communicated  to the farming community in different on-going training programmes like Farmers’ Field Schools, Integrated Crop Management, Block level Awareness campaigns and in filed tours.

 

8.         Citizens Interaction    :-

          Farming community have been given opportunity every time to interact with the scientists/ officers in farmers’ scientist interaction programme, in different training  programmes to clear their doubts/ to strengthen their technical skills. For this we have arranged a two way communication programme in different trainings / meetings / Block level  Awareness campaigns organized by the department.

Any body can apply for any subsidy under different projects under KSK like deep borewell,  agri-enterprises and farm machanisation to the VAW / A.O. After scrutiny he can send the application to JAO  within seven days after verification. JAO will forward the eligiable application to the  DAO. after verification within seven days. D. A. O. will approve the eligible projects which fulfills  all norms and conditions of Government guide lines.
