Background of the Organization: -        Deogarh District was created out of Sambalpur District vide Revenue & Excise Deptt. Notification No.56113 dt.22.12.1993 and functioning as such w.e.f.  01.01.1994. District Election Office, Deogarh is functioning vide G.A. Deptt. Notification No.12756 dt.24.6.1994. It is now functioning in a building adjacent to Collectorate constructed by DRDA.

 

Aims & Objectives: -         To conduct Election to Lok Sabha and Orissa Legislative Assembly, Preparation & Revision of Electoral Roll, Preparation of Elector’s Photo ID Cards and such other works as entrusted by Election Commission of India and Chief Electoral Officer, Orissa from time to time.

 

Mission / Vision: -  1. To conduct the free & fair elections.

                             2. To make the Electoral Roll error-free.

                             3. To cover each voter under the Electors Photo Identity Card

    Programme.

Procedure followed in decision- making process.

On receipt of a letter the Dealing Assistant put a diary number on it and put the letter on the concern file describing the subject matter in detail and submits it to the Head Clerk. The Head clerk then submits the file to the Deputy Collector who will in turn submit it to the Additional District Magistrate. After due observation the Additional District Magistrate submit the file to the District Election Officer for orders.
